The Diacore Gaborone Marathon is the longest running marathon for charity dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people in Botswana. With over 5,000 participants registered in 2014, the Marathon is fast gaining popularity with a target of crossing 7,500 registrations in 2015.

The marathon is governed by the International Association of Athletics Federations and the Botswana Athletics association. It is open for to ages 19 and up, and the race is a qualifier for the Comrades Marathon in Durban and Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, and the 2012 Olympic Marathon in London.
